In this role, you will:

  • Design and execute synthetic routes toward assigned targets.
  • Develop reactions into efficient, scalable processes.
  • Evaluate the safety parameters of the processes.
  • Transfer the processes to the Kilo lab, small scale cGMP, and/or large scale production facilities as required
  • Effectively interface with the customer, Analytical, QA, QC, and scale-up teams.
  • Supervise and mentor junior scientists and serve as a technical expert for the department as requested.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:


  • Ph.D. Degree in Organic Chemistry or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years’ hands on experience in developing chemical processes in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • Extensive experience in route scouting, optimization of multistep syntheses, and identification of critical reaction parameters
  • Good knowledge of the use of HPLC, NMR, and other routinely used analytical tools
  • Knowledge of Process Safety and experience in addressing issues related to process safety
  • Extensive knowledge in process validation and late phase process development
  • ·Strong written and oral communication skills in order to:

    ointerpret experimental data and technical journals

    omaintain laboratory notebook and prepare detailed reports

    oeffectively present information to customers, colleagues, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

    orespond to inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies


  • Good knowledge in technology transfer and designing processes to suit a plant set up
  • Detailed knowledge about all unit operations and knowledge about optimizing these operations
  • Knowledge in late phase process development
  • Knowledge of newer technologies (ReactIR, FBRM, Flow Chemistry) and Design of Experiments (DoE) statistical analysis
  • Knowledge in Process Safety and experience in addressing issues related to process safety.
  • Experience in mentoring junior scientists
