What the role is
The Interior Designer works in collaboration with the Art Lead, Architect and Project Manager for each location. This position will report directly to the Design Coordinator. This job is a key position to maximize our design performance and interior design development. Selina is growing fast and our look and feel for each location are a key element on this journey.
What you will be doing
Creates the Look and Feel, a mood board with the design concept proposal, based on theculturalsurrounding and ensuring a Selina brand style.
Creates the Design Inventory, alongside the Workshop manager, a list of existing furniture to be transformed by the Creative team in Selina.
Communicates daily with the Workshop manager to ensure a wow effect in the property, aligned with the design proposal and Selina brand.
Coordinates with the assigned architect to effectively and systematically work with the most updated plans and complete design specifications.
Creates the Furniture, FixtureandLighting (FF&E) list, which will also serve as an upkeep and maintenance reference book.
Coordinates with the purchaser assigned to the project, in order to establish a timely purchase of the FF&E list.
Creates and presents the Design Package, a presentation that will follow a template and will include the L&F, architectural plans, room index, the design and artistic proposal, with detailed and executive specifications.
Ensures that the interior design of all areas corresponds to the requirements from Real Estate and Operations.
Works under the schedule and budget of each project;
Works onsite for the duration of the construction phase untilhandoverof the property;over seesthat all the art is completed according to the DP, and that furniture layout is achieved as proposed.
Prepares the Interior Design Exit Review presented to the Head of Design at the end of the construction phase, in the form of a survey, accompanied with pictures and videos of all areas.
Prepares the Interior Design Handover book consisting of the FF&E list, with contact information from the actual providers, the specs of each purchased item (code, dimension, color, etc.), the code for the paints used on all the walls and fa ade + the Workshop Itemized Spec book + pictures of the distribution of furniture per area.
Prepares weekly reports with pictures and video of the construction phase.
Willing to live onsite, and travel/move to new locations.
What you need for the role
2 to 5 years of proven working experience in developing interior design projects, from A to Z; from space planning to decoration and hand over;
Availability to travel on short notice and live onsite, share an apartment. ( must)
Previous experience leading design projects and design teams.
Previous experience with one or more areas of expertise (Interior Design, Construction, Project Management)
Experience in Restaurant or F&B spaces (plus)
Proficiency in Autocad is mandatory.
Knowledge of Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, and/or other 3D modelingsoftwaresare a plus.
Knowledge of designsoftwaressuch as Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. are also a plus.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
BS degree in Interior Design or similar;
Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations;
Project management skills (desirable).
