Switchboard Operator - Full Time Rotating Shift with Weekends

This position will be a full time days with weekends. The PBX Operator –Responsible for answering, triaging and directing all incoming customer calls, codes and alarms using expert keyboarding and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrates ability to efficiently organize work and maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Be able to make informed decisions about referral action when confronted with emergency situation (i.e. when a caller does not know what action is required).
  • Responsible for answering/directing calls accurately. This includes calls from patients, staff and community. Gives directions and other requested information to callers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and independent problem solving skills; exceptional attention to detail, decision making abilities and the ability to use critical thinking.
  • Demonstrates excellent professional interaction skills with patients and staff.
  • Performs functions, duties and carry out responsibilities of all center
  • Demonstrates SPHCS Standards of Behavior.
  • High School graduate, G.E.D. is Required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and complete high school level computational skills.
  • Operate a computerized switchboard console.
  • Perform basic keyboard functions including typing.
  • Directs all incoming and in-house calls through transfers, paging, conference calls, overhead paging, and faxing. 
  • When notified of an emergency situation, able to initiate appropriate paging and contacting personnel properly in a timely manner.
